DESCRIPTION:In A Shimmer in the Dark you will play a group of workers on an
  oil rig in the North Sea. Under pressure from environmental activists and
  facing the depletion of fossil fuel resources on Earth\, deep-sea drillin
 g is coming to an end. The workers are having their final shift on the oil
  rig\, uncertain about what lies ahead\; In a more and more automated worl
 d\, the need for human labour is diminishing. A Shimmer in the Dark is spe
 culative climate fiction that imagines a world at the end of petroleum ext
 raction and human labour\, addressing our relationship with the unknown.\n
 \n\nAbout Sophie Allerding\nSophie Allerding (she/they) is an interdiscipl
 inary artist focused on storytelling and crafting experiences that foster 
 meaningful encounters. The central theme in ➫ Sophie’s work is the evo
 lving relationship between humans and their environment in light of the pl
 anetary crisis.Rooted in world building and speculative fiction\, Sophie e
 mploys various media such as role-playing games\, audio/visuals\, and radi
 o to unravel the multifaceted nature of our shared reality. Sophie is acti
 ve in the feminist collectives POSSY and Radio Echo Collective and part of
