 his workshop\, you will learn to make an object from scratch in the 3D ani
 mation software  blender as well as all the steps towards making it game-
 ready for The Sims 4.\n\nWhile The Sims franchise has long held an importa
 nt place in the landscape of life simulation games The Sims 4—the latest
  in the series—has been widely criticized for its shallow gameplay\, inc
 reasingly aggressive monetization strategies\, and a loss of the\n\nquirky
 \, socially reflective charm that once defined the series. These issues ar
 e largely attributed to its owner\, Electronic Arts\, who is often seen as
  one of the most exploitative forces in the gaming industry.\n\nYet\, desp
 ite these shortcomings\, a vibrant modding community has emerged. Modders 
 extend\, hack\, and reimagine the game in all ways\n\npossible\, often pro
 ducing more engaging content than the original developers. In many\n\nways
 \, they are keeping the game alive.\nEach participant needs to bring:\n•
  A laptop with at least 8GB RAM\n• An object or good image references fo
 r an object. Perhaps an artwork. Not too complex\, the fewer different sh
 apes it contains the better. Programs we will use:\n• Blender\n• The S
 ims 4\n• Sims 4 Studio\n• An image editor that supports layers and alp
 ha channel\, such as Photoshop\, Photopea or Gimp
