prikbord.page Official Launch
Join us for the official launch of prikbord.page: a collective web calendar for underground venues and creative spaces in Rotterdam.It all started with a sunny afternoon in 2025: 15 small and niche venues met up in Rotterdam to find the answer to a burning question: How do we collectively get ourselves off Instagram?Over the years, we’ve become completely dependent on social media. And what a utopia that is: Constantly tailoring your content to their algorithmic rules, while no one can even find your posts because of that same algorithm. Oh, and if your politics don’t align with big tech, you might find your account suspended without reason one day.On top of that, social media has become so dominant in the world of communication that many small venues don’t even have a website anymore—you can only find them on Instagram. That’s gotta change!We’ve concluded that we’re tired. Tired of platforms, tired of constant maintenance, tired of all the obstacles. We want to organize cool events, while knowing that people actually get to see our love and labor.prikbord.page offers an alternative information route. This website is accessible to all, built by and for venues, and both the code and the server are within our reach in Rotterdam.prikbord.page has:
- no algorithms
- no strict curation or difficult delivery specs
- multiple ways to post your events automatically (e.g. through your website or Stager)
- a print function that turns a single event or calendar into a funky poster for you to print (!)
- a quirky design ideology
- an open-source repository: our code can be adopted by other cities if they wish
The first version of prikbord.page will launch at Roodkapje West on Friday, May 29, in the afternoon. Do you organize cultural or artistic events, and/or do you have a niche audience? Or are you someone who loves visiting these spots?Join the launch! With your feedback, we can assess what the site still needs. This is your chance to co-design prikbord.
