Mod The Sims with Rosa Zangenberg
.zip invites Rosa Zangenberg to host a beginner-friendly workshop in blender and making game ready objects for the computer game The Sims 4!
Explores the artistic potential of modding The Sims 4. By joining this workshop, you will learn to make an object from scratch in the 3D animation software blender as well as all the steps towards making it game-ready for The Sims 4.
While The Sims franchise has long held an important place in the landscape of life simulation games The Sims 4—the latest in the series—has been widely criticized for its shallow gameplay, increasingly aggressive monetization strategies, and a loss of the
quirky, socially reflective charm that once defined the series. These issues are largely attributed to its owner, Electronic Arts, who is often seen as one of the most exploitative forces in the gaming industry.
Yet, despite these shortcomings, a vibrant modding community has emerged. Modders extend, hack, and reimagine the game in all ways
possible, often producing more engaging content than the original developers. In many
ways, they are keeping the game alive.
Each participant needs to bring:
• A laptop with at least 8GB RAM
• An object or good image references for an object. Perhaps an artwork. Not too complex, the fewer different shapes it contains the better. Programs we will use:
• Blender
• The Sims 4
• Sims 4 Studio
• An image editor that supports layers and alpha channel, such as Photoshop, Photopea or Gimp
